Roe, Roebuck:
The Hebrew words thus translated denote some species of antelope, probably the Gazella arabica of Syria and Arabia. The gazelle was allowed as food (Deuteronomy 12:15, 22 etc.); it is mentioned as very fleet of foot (2 Samuel 2:18; 1 Chronicles 12:8) it was hunted (Isaiah 13:14; Proverbs 6:5) it was celebrated for its loveliness (Solomon 2:9; 2:17; 8:14).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
