"SATURATED WITH THE WORD"
I. WHY SATURATE WITH THE WORD? "THEREFORE."
A. God was planning to bless them with abundance vs 14,15.
1. The perpetual danger of abundance is idolatry. vs 16.
a. We get captivated with our possessions.
b. "They who will be rich fall into divers temptations."
2. Because God loves you He desires to bless you, with material abundance.
a. But many times because He loves you He doesn't.
B. "Therefore" keep my Word before thee. For if you keep my Word, my Word will keep you.
1. Ps 1.
2. Ps 119 "Thy word have I hid in my heart..."
II. WHAT TO SATURATE WITH THE WORD vs 18 (HEART AND SOUL).
A. The heart is the throne of the spirit.
1. It is in contact with & brings life - to every part of the body.
2. It is considered the area of man's will.
3. It is the deepest area of man's being.
4. The body outer, soul inner, heart or spirit innermost.
5. The area God seeks to control.
a. "Out of it proceed the issues of life."
b. "Believe in thine heart."
c. "My son give me thy heart."
d. David speaks of those who draw nigh with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
e. "Where your treasure is there will your heart..."
6. In natural state "deceitful & desperately wicked" unknowable.
B. The soul is man's consciousness.
1. It in a sense is the gateway to the spirit.
a. "Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap, if we sow to the flesh..."
2. To try to comprehend the Word of God on an intellectual basis only, is folly.
a. "The natural mind cannot understand the things of the spirit, neither can it know them."
C. Thus we are to lay these words in our hearts and souls.
1. Always pray and ask for understanding before reading.
III. HOW TO SATURATE HEART AND SOUL WITH WORD.
A. Bind them for a sign upon your hand.
1. Flash cards.
B. Teach them to your children.
1. The best way to learn is to teach.
C. Speak of them when you are sitting in your house.
1. How beautiful the home where husband & wife share the Word.
2. How beautiful the love that binds not just bodies & minds but hearts together.
D. Speak of them when you are walking in the ways.
1. Riding in your cars.
E. When you lie down and rise up.
1. Motto's around the house.
a. Plaque in Cheryl's room.
b. Ceiling in Matteson's home.
2. Write them on the door posts & the gates.
IV. THE RESULTS OF SATURATION.
A. That the days of God's blessing be multiplied.
B. That we may begin the life of victory. vs 23.
C. That we may begin to possess our possessions. vs 24.
D. That we might triumph. vs 25.
E. In Chemistry supersaturated solution.
