"THE OVERFLOWING LIFE."
I. "THE GREAT DAY OF THE FEAST."
A. Feast of Tabernacles, eight days.
1. Seven days, priest journey to pool of Siloam.
2. Signified:
a. Miraculous supply of water in wilderness.
b. Promise of God to bring them into a land, a well-watered land flowing.
3. Eighth day no procession, no pouring of water.
a. No longer in wilderness but God has brought them into the land.
B. On this day, "The great day."
1. Jesus stood and cried.
a. His standing is significant.
1. Teachers always sat, heralds stood.
2. He is heralding a new day.
II. "IF ANY MAN THIRST, LET HIM COME UNTO ME AND DRINK."
A. Here we have Gospel. Thirst.
1. Thirst descriptive word for world.
2. The problem with world is the futile attempts or methods with which they try to slack their thirst.
a. "He who drinks of this water shall thirst again."
B. "Come unto Me."
1. Herein lies the answer to the thirsty soul.
