"LIGHT OF THE WORLD"
I. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel.
A. The purpose of light is to give light.
B. The purpose of salt is to be salty.
1. If if is not salty, it is worthless.
2. It must fulfill the basic purpose of it's existence.
C. We are the light of the world, we must fulfill the purpose by giving light.
1. If we try to hide the light, we have no reason for existing.
2. It is sad that so many however try to hide the light.
3. A little boy came to his pastor and asked for prayer because he was going to a school camp where there would not be any other Christians. When he came home, his minister asked him how it went. He answered, "Great, they never found out."
D. The bible says concerning Jesus that in Him was life and the life was the light of man. And the light shineth in the darkness and the darkness could not extinguish it.
1. The darkness should not extinguish our light.
