Intro: It looks like Satan might be winning. The Supreme courts have open the doors for immorality, our schools are being disrupted, crime and violence are on the rise. Satan has set his traps, and is luring thousands of souls daily into them. Witchcraft is on the rise, many of local children seeking spirit of Mary Worth. "Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler."
I. "THE SNARE OF THE FOWLER."
A. The old art of trapping birds.
1. None of animal kingdom seems to be as free.
2. Fowler seeks to bring them into captivity.
B. The snare is connected with secrecy "Surely in vain is the net spread in the sight of any bird."
1. Satan of the middle ages is dead.
a. He does not appear in red suit and forked tail.
b. He comes as a gentleman and seeks to beguile.
2. He does not seek to entice you to rob a bank.
a. Just withhold a part of your tithes.
b. I fear the effects of Jeane Dixon far more than Madaline Murry.
C. The Snare is noted for adaptation.
1. You do not use the same trap for all birds.
a. Seagulls - sparrows.
2. Satan will tempt one with drunkenness.
a. This may be no temptation to you at all.
3. So he comes to you with pride.
4. He knows your weak area.
D. The fowlers snare usually connected with pleasure, profit, or advantage.
1. Throw seeds on the ground.
2. With Eve - pleasant to the eyes, good for food, desired to make one wise.
E. The fowler often employs the force of example.
1. Ducks - decoys.
2. Everybody is doing it. You're odd if you don't.
F. The fowler when he fails with deceit will go hawking.
1. The secret is to fly upward.
II. "SURELY HE WILL DELIVER YOU FROM THE SNARE."
A. The Holy Spirit will warn us of every danger.
1. Thinking back into each snare (I was warned).
a. Something within said -Stop! Don't do it! That's wrong.
b. If I was snared, it was because I failed to heed. Don't blame God for calamity.
B. Should we become snared He will deliver us "out of" the snare.
1. O the testimonies that could be shared.
2. O the Grace of God.
III. SURELY HE WILL DELIVER THEE.
A. Who can know this glorious promise?
1. Vs. 1 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High."
a. There is a place where Satan can not reach me.
b. His fiery darts are quenched.
IV. "SURELY HE WILL."
A. The certainty of God's deliverance.
1. "All that the Father giveth me are mine and no man shall pluck them out of my hand."
B. My deliverance is not predicated upon my strength or cunning or ability.
1. If so, I am lost. "He is able to deliver thee."
