What Peace Does God Provide To The Believer?
When a person becomes a Christian one of the benefits they experience is the peace of God. Scripture speaks of three kinds of peace: peace from God, peace of God, and peace on earth.

Peace With God

When a person trusts Christ as their Savior, they are at peace with God. The Bible teaches that we are His enemies before we trust Christ as Savior. Once a person is saved, there is peace between them and God.

This peace is a result of the new relationship we have with God.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).

Peace Of God

This is the peace of the soul that all believers can experience during times of trial. The Apostle Paul addressed the church in Rome by saying:

To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and  peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 1:7).

This is a supernatural peace that comes from God during out times of struggle. It is beyond all human understanding:

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:7).

Because we have trusted Christ as Savior we can experience this wonderful peace of God no matter what the circumstances. This is a peace that unbelievers cannot understand or experience.

Peace On Earth

Unlimited peace is promised by God when Jesus returns and sets up His Kingdom on the earth. The prophet Isaiah records God's plan for His Son Jesus:

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform it (Isaiah 9:6,7).

At the announcement of Christ's birth the angel said to the shepherds.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests (Luke 2:14).

Summary

When a person becomes a Christian, they become at peace with God. There is now a relationship between themself and the Creator. As they experience difficulty in trial and tribulations, they receive  the peace of God to help them get through the tough times. Finally, all of creation will experience God's peace when Christ returns to set up His everlasting Kingdom.
