Born: January 1, 1734, Truro, Cornwall.
Died: February 11, 1820, Bath, England.
After practicing as a physician, Haweis attended Christ’s College, Cambridge, then took Holy Orders. He became assistant preacher of M. Madan at the Lock Hospital, Aldwincle, Northamptonshire, England. He was also chaplain to Lady Huntingdon’s chapel at Bath, England, and rector at All Saints’ Church in Aldwinkle, Northamptonshire. His works include:

- A Commentary on the Holy Bible
- Carmino Christo; or, Hymns to the Saviour, 1792
