Born: May 16, 1850, Norwich, England.

Died: November 19, 1829, Cambridge, England.

Mann graduated from New College, Oxford (Mus.B. 1874, Mus.D. 1882). He was a chorister in Norwich Cathedral, and after short stints playing the organ at St. Peter’s, Wolverhampton (1870); Tettenhall Parish Church (1871); and Beverley Minster (1875); he became the organist at King’s College Chapel, Cambridge, where he served 53 years. He also edited hymnals and composed a number of hymn tunes.
