Pierpoint attended Queen’s College at Cambridge University, and later taught classics at Somersetshire College. He later lived at Babbicombe in Devonshire, and elsewhere, and occasionally taught. His works include:

• The Chalice of Nature and Other Poems, undated, but reissued in 1878 as Songs of Love, the Chalice of Nature, and Lyra Jesu.
