Num 1:1 — And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first [day] of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

on the first day		As the tabernacle was erected on the first day of the first month, in the second year of their departure from Egypt, (Exd 40:17,) and this happened on the first day of the second month, in the same year, it is evident that the transactions related in the preceding book must all have taken place in the space of one month, and during the time the Israelites were encamped at mount Sinai. Num 9:1; Num 10:11; Exd 40:17; 1Ki 6:1

	Exd 40:17	And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first [day] of the month, [that] the tabernacle was reared up.
	1Ki 6:1	And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which [is] the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
