  1. The manna that fell in the wilderness tasted like honey. “The taste of it was like wafers made with honey” (Exodus 16:31).
  2. The land of Canaan, which is typical of earthly blessing to the full, is said to be a land flowing with milk and honey. “I am come…to bring…unto a land flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8).
  3. The abundance of God’s favour and grace is likened to honey. “He made him to suck honey out of the rock” (Deut. 32:13).
  4. The preciousness and sweetness of God’s Word are- “Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb” (Psalm 19:10).
  5. Pleasant words and sweetness of expression are compared to honey. “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul” (Proverbs 16:24).
  6. Christ’s delight in His people when they are bringing forth fruit is as a feast to Him. “I have eaten My honeycomb with My honey” (Solomon’s Song 5:1).
  7. Pleasures of sin and the lusts of the flesh are likened to honey. “For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb” (Proverbs 5:3).
