"BROKEN CLAY"
I. THE VESSEL MADE. vs.3.
A. God is the potter.
1. His power over the clay.
2. Skill in handling clay.
3. His pre-planned design.
B. The wheel.
1. Daily round of life.
a. To complain against circumstances is to complain against potter.
C. The clay.
1. Our lives.
2. Clay very common - almost valueless.
a. Infinite possibilities.
b. Value determined by skill of potter.
II. VESSEL MARRED. vs.4.
A. Something wrong with clay. Hard lump.
1. Secret cherishing of sin.
2. Unwillingness to yield to potters touch.
a. Unwilling to resist temptation.
b. Unwilling to confess wrong attitude.
c. Unwilling to quit robbing God.
B. Potter does not destroy vessel, but removes lump and begins again.
III. VESSEL REMADE. vs. 4
A. Every touch with purpose and delicate skill.
B. Perfect confidence in potter necessary to yield to His touch.
IV. VESSEL PERFECTED.
A. Placed in furnace and heated.
1. No vessel put in unshielded.
2. King George and black cups.(sp?)
B. Some vessels crack in this process - thus discarded.
V. THE POTTERS FIELD.
A. Bought with the price of blood.
B. Field filled with broken pieces of clay.
