I. REVIEW OF SERMON AS A WHOLE.
1. Description of Christian, his character.
2. Reminded of his function in earth "Ye are the salt."
"Ye are the light."
3. Instructions as to his life in this world.
a. Relationship to law (necessary because of teaching of scribes).
4. Christian living in world in fellowship with Father.
5. Worldly things in their relation to believer.
II. OUR RELATIONSHIP TO GOD IS FUNDAMENTAL MATTER.
A. It's not what man thinks of us, but what God thinks.
B. Our life here is just a pilgrimage.
1. Half of our troubles come from our living as though this was the only life.
2. Big difference between knowing something and being governed by this knowledge in life.
3. If asked if you believe in life after death.
C. The people who really are different are those who live in consciousness of eternal destiny.
D. Christian knows he walks in presence of God and is going to meet God.
E. We are going through a judgment constantly preparing for final judgment.
III. "JUDGE NOT" PRINCIPLE AND ENLARGEMENT.
A. What does he mean?
1. Christian should never express opinion about others.
2. Except everyone who takes name Christian; time for unity against Communism.
B. Is this a possible interpretation?
1. It cannot be (context).
a. Vs. 6 "Give not that which is holy unto dogs."
1. How can you obey this without judging.
b. Vs. 15 "Beware of false prophets."
1. I must make assessment of teaching.
IV. WHAT DOES HE MEAN "JUDGE NOT?"
A. Concerning about condemning.
1. Pharisee "I thank thee I am not as other" judging and condemning.
2. All guilty.
3. Wound-probe it.
B. What is danger?
1. A kind of a spirit.
a. Self-righteous spirit.
1. Self always behind it. Better than others regard them with contempt.
2. Negative of all positives in I Cor. 13.
Let us remember these words "Judge not." Thankful gospel, "while we yet sinners Christ died." Not one stands in own righteousness, but "in righteousness of Christ." Without him we are utterly lost.
