Smith's Bible Dictionary

Abishalom:

(father of peace) father or grandfather of Maachah, who was the wife of Rehoboam and mother of Abijah (1 Kings 15:2, 10). He is called Absalom in 2 Chronicles 11:20-21. This person must be David's son. (See LXX., 2 Samuel 14:27). Maachah was doubtless named after her grandmother (2 Samuel 3:3). SEE [MAACHAH, 3.]

CONTENT DISCLAIMER:

The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
