A.G. Clarke’s Analytical Studies in the Psalms; Graham Scroggie’s Bible Handbook and Guide to the Gospel’s, Griffith Thomas’ works, as well as those of John Phillips, John G. Butler, Warren Wiersbe, Harold Willmington (just to name a few) have inspired countless Bible students, pastors and teachers to explain the text of Scripture in a systematic, orderly exposition, using outlines to communicate God’s glorious truth to others.

In 2006, George Zemek wrote a book called, Road Maps for the Psalms: Inductive Preaching Outlines Based on the Hebrew Text. It too has been a help to Bible expositors all over the world. While the title of this volume is obviously barrowed from Dr. Zemek’s, it makes no claim to be as exegetically precise or based upon detailed diagrammatical analysis.

This book is intended as an initial roadmap for other adventurers to explore the infinitely beautiful terrain of this portion of God’s Word. Not every geographical marker has been mapped—nor could it be. But it is a start to help you navigate through the major highways and back trails of the non-Pauline epistles and Revelation.

The varied formats of the different authors of this volume have been, for the most part, kept in an attempt to highlight each author’s own style and emphasis. It is our prayer that the different styles and approaches to outlining are not a distraction, but rather an encouragement to see how others with a high view of the text have seen it, and help you then make your own roadmap, which accurately reflects the hallowed territory, yet is unique to your own journey and ministry context.

You will also find Dr. James Price’s website of great help (www.jamesdprice.com), as well as James Bartsch’s (www.wordexplain.com). Both of these men have crafted excellent expository and exegetical outlines of most of the books of the Bible.

May God bless you as you seek to know His Son through His Word—and then make Him known.
