  1. The cry of the Witness. “Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on Me believeth not on Me, but on Him that sent Me” (John 12:44). Faithful in its testimony and full in its promise.
  2. The cry of the Teacher. “He cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Luke 8:8). Powerful in utterance and practical in outcome.
  3. The cry of the Life-giver. “He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:43). Quickening and liberating.
  4. The cry of the Satisfier. “Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst let him come unto Me and drink” (John 7:37). Sure, lasting, refreshing and free.
  5. The cry of the Rebuker. “Then cried Jesus in the Temple as He taught, saying, ye both know Me,” &c. (John 7:28). Searching and mouth-stopping.
  6. The cry of the Surrenderer. “Jesus crying with a loud voice, said, Father into Thy hands,” &c. (Luke 23:46, R.V., M.). Patient and passive.
  7. The cry of the Sufferer. “Jesus cried with a loud voice saying, My God! My God! why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27:46). Cry of Cries.
