"THE PURPOSE OF HIS COMING"
(To prepare for His second coming.)
Intro: We have seen that Jesus came to reveal the Father; to give us life; to destroy the works of the devil; to seek and to save the lost. These purposes are not universally fulfilled. The same message can produce divergent results, "the preaching of the cross..."

1. He has through His first coming.
a. Made provision for my sin. How?
b. Made provision for my weakness. How?

3. His first coming was to take care of the sin issue. Text.
4. His second coming will be to complete our...
C. The three aspects of our change.
1. I was changed. "If any man be in..."
2. I am being changed. "And we with open..."
3. I shall be changed. "Beloved I show you..."
III. THE FIRST COMING WAS NECESSARY TO PREPARE FOR THE SECOND COMING.
A. Sin had to be dealt with.
B. The second coming is necessary to fulfill the first coming.
1. We do not yet see all His purposes fulfilled.
a. Not all walk in clear light of God.
b. Not all have the abundant life.
c. Not all Satan's works destroyed.
d. Not all the lost are saved.
"But now we see not yet all things put under Him, but we see Jesus."
