所罗门在箴言20:10中从情感转向商业： “不同的砝码，不同的量器，这都是耶和华所憎恶的。”（第10节）这一节与第23节相呼应，以日常贸易的诚信为本章定下了基调。
“重量不同”指的是天平上使用的石块重量不同，较重的“买入”石块和较轻的“卖出”石块可以让商人双向作弊，还能显得诚实可靠。 “计量不同”指的是用来分装谷物的容器重量不同，同样的伎俩也适用于此。
