The quiet presence of wisdom in Proverbs 14:33 shows that Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, but in the hearts of fools it is made known (v. 33). Wisdom has a different manner in the wise than in the foolish.
In the person of understanding, wisdom rests. It is settled, stable, and at home within him. They do not need to flaunt it. Wisdom can remain quiet because it is securely rooted in the heart.
But in the hearts of fools it is made known, likely meaning that what is in them becomes obvious, and their lack of wisdom quickly reveals itself. Fools advertise their inner disorder. The wise have a settled interior; the fool has an exposed one.
