Proverbs 15:21 shifts to delight and direction: Folly is joy to him who lacks sense, but a man of understanding walks straight (v. 21). What a person enjoys says much about his heart.
For the one who lacks sense, folly is joy. He takes pleasure in what deforms him. This is one of the deepest marks of foolishness—not merely doing wrong, but enjoying it as though it were good.
The man of understanding, however, walks straight. Wisdom produces upright direction. He is not merely more informed; he is morally aligned. His life has a clarity and steadiness that contrasts sharply with the warped delights of the fool.
