The Bible Says
Proverbs 15:25 Meaning

Here in Proverbs 15:25 Solomon highlights God’s justice: The LORD will tear down the house of the proud, but He will establish the boundary of the widow (v. 25). God opposes the arrogant and protects the vulnerable.

The house of the proud represents what arrogance builds—status, power, legacy, and self-exalting structures. Yet the Lord will tear it down because pride is fundamentally opposed to His rule. What is built on self-glory cannot remain secure before Him.

By contrast, He will establish the boundary of the widow. In ancient Israel, a widow was especially vulnerable to exploitation because she lacked the protection and provision often tied to a husband and household. The boundary refers to property lines and inheritance rights. God’s defense of her boundary shows His concern for justice and His commitment to preserving the weak against those who would take advantage of them.
