Another blessing saying appears in Proverbs 16:20: He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD (v. 20). Listening and trusting are joined together.
To give attention to the word is to receive instruction seriously, letting it shape our decisions. Wisdom comes to those who incline their ear rather than assuming they already know. This is one of the recurring emphases in the earlier Proverbs materials you shared.
The second line reaches even deeper: blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. Trust is the heart of wisdom because it abandons the illusion of self-sufficiency and rests in God’s goodness. The one who listens well and trusts deeply is the one who truly finds good.

The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
