Another portrait of scheming wickedness appears in Proverbs 16:30: He who winks his eyes does so to devise perverse things; he who compresses his lips brings evil to pass (v. 30). Solomon notices the subtle bodily signs of hidden plotting.
The one who winks his eyes and compresses his lips is communicating secret intent. Wickedness often enjoys indirect signaling, coded communication, and concealed coordination. Evil is not always loud; sometimes it is sly.
This proverb warns against the social subtlety of sin. Body language and quiet gestures can participate in perversity just as much as overt speech. Wisdom values straightness and clarity; wickedness delights in concealed manipulation.
