The Bible Says
Proverbs 17:15 Meaning

Proverbs 17:15 is a strong statement about justice: He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD (v. 15). God hates moral inversion in judgment.

To justify the wicked is to call evil good. To condemn the righteous is to call good evil. Both acts pervert justice because they sever judgment from truth. Solomon says both are equally abhorrent because each attacks the moral order God has established.

This proverb applies in courts, leadership, speech, and everyday moral evaluation. Whenever a society rewards evil and punishes righteousness, it moves against the grain of reality. God does not treat that lightly. Justice matters because truth matters.
