Justice is attacked again in Proverbs 19:28: A rascally witness makes a mockery of justice, and the mouth of the wicked spreads iniquity (v. 28). Wicked speech is shown undermining the structures meant to protect communal life.
A rascally witness does not merely get facts wrong; they make a mockery of justice. He turns what should have been serious, truthful, and protective into something corrupted and absurd. This is why false testimony is so destructive.
Meanwhile, the mouth of the wicked spreads iniquity. Evil talk multiplies evil effects. Speech becomes a vehicle through which corruption is distributed. The proverb reminds us that words can either uphold justice or participate in its collapse.
