Falar precipitadamente é falar sem se importar com o momento certo, a verdade ou o efeito. Tal discurso fere porque é impensado, áspero ou descontrolado. Uma espada deixa marcas, assim como as palavras proferidas com raiva, vaidade ou impaciência.
Em contraste, a língua dos sábios traz cura. A fala sábia não apenas evita o mal; ela restaura ativamente. Pode confortar os feridos, corrigir os desviados e reparar o que o conflito quebrou. Provérbios ensina repetidamente que a sabedoria dá vida, e aqui essa vida se manifesta no poder redentor das palavras.
