Concluindo o capítulo, Provérbios 12:28 apresenta a verdade de que A vida está na vereda da justiça, e no seu caminho não há morte (v. 28). Este provérbio final resume o capítulo de forma primorosa. Provérbios trata fundamentalmente de caminhos, e aqui Salomão identifica o caminho que leva à vida.
O caminho da retidão é a vida, porque se alinha com o Deus que criou a realidade e que define o que é bom. Andar em retidão é andar em harmonia com a verdade, a sabedoria, a justiça e o temor do Senhor. Este caminho conduz à plenitude e à prosperidade.
E em seu caminho não há morte. Em Provérbios, a morte muitas vezes carrega o sentido de separação do bom plano de Deus, da paz e da verdadeira realização humana. A justiça conduz na direção oposta. Na narrativa bíblica mais ampla, isso aponta para o próprio Jesus, que é o caminho, a verdade e a vida (João 14:6).
