O desfecho revelado em Provérbios 14:32 mostra que O perverso é derrubado pela sua malícia, mas o justo, ainda morrendo, tem esperança (v. 32). Este versículo contempla a morte e o que vem depois dela.
O ímpio é derrubado por suas más ações, o pecado não é apenas julgado externamente; ele possui uma força descendente intrínseca. A má ação torna-se o meio da ruína e o caminho da maldade carrega sua própria destruição.
Mas o justo tem um refúgio na morte, este é um dos indícios mais claros de que a justiça encontra segurança além da sepultura. O justo não é abandonado na morte, mesmo lá, ele tem abrigo. Na narrativa bíblica completa, isso aponta para o refúgio supremo encontrado em Deus por meio de Cristo.
