Uma imagem perturbadora surge em Provérbios 15:11: O Sheol e Abadom estão diante de Jeová, quanto mais os corações dos filhos dos homens! (v. 11). Salomão argumenta do maior para o menor. Se Deus vê até mesmo o reino da morte, certamente Ele vê o coração humano.
Sheol e Abadom são referências ao reino dos mortos e da destruição. São lugares muito além do alcance humano, ocultos à visão comum. Contudo, estão expostos diante do SENHOR. Nada está oculto ao Seu conhecimento.
Quanto mais, então, os corações dos homens! Os seres humanos podem esconder suas motivações uns dos outros, e muitas vezes até de si mesmos por um tempo, mas não de Deus. Este versículo nos chama a viver com honestidade diante Dele. A sabedoria começa quando paramos de fingir que nossa vida interior está oculta.
