Provérbios 15:27 adverte sobre a ganância: Aquele que tem espírito de ganância perturba a sua casa, mas quem aborrece dádivas, viverá (v. 27). O ganho injusto não se limita ao indivíduo; ele espalha problemas para todos.
Quem tem espírito de ganância perturba a própria casa. Sua ganância envenena o ambiente familiar através da ansiedade, da injustiça e das consequências do ganho desonesto. O lucro obtido ilicitamente nunca é verdadeiramente privado. Sua desordem atinge o lar.
Mas o homem que odeia subornos viverá. Rejeitar a corrupção é escolher a vida. Subornos distorcem a justiça e recompensam a parcialidade; recusá-los alinha a pessoa com a verdade. Este provérbio honra a recusa moral como um ato de preservação da vida.
