Um contraste entre fala e reflexão aparece novamente em Provérbios 15:28: O coração do justo medita no que há de responder, mas a boca dos perversos derrama coisas más (v. 28). A sabedoria pensa antes de falar.
O coração do justo medita, pois a justiça inclui a deliberação. Os sábios não tratam as palavras levianamente. Eles avaliam suas respostas, buscando o que é verdadeiro, apropriado e benéfico. A reflexão é uma marca da maturidade moral.
Porém, a boca do ímpio dos perversos derrama coisas más. O mal emana deles porque não há cuidado na administração da fala. Suas palavras são impulsivas, corruptas e reveladoras. Mais uma vez, Provérbios liga a boca ao coração e mostra que a fala sábia começa com uma vida interior sábia.
