O próximo versículo retoma a relação de Deus com os justos e os ímpios: Jeová está longe dos perversos, mas ouve a oração dos justos (v. 29). Distância e proximidade, aqui em Provérbios 15:29, falam de questões morais e relacionais.
O Senhor está longe dos perversos, não no sentido de que Ele desconheça a sua existência, mas sim porque eles não desfrutam da proximidade do Seu favor e comunhão enquanto persistirem na rebeldia. A maldade gera afastamento. Uma vida desviada de Deus não pode esperar o conforto de uma comunhão íntima com Ele.
Mas Ele ouve a oração dos justos. Os justos têm acesso a Ele porque suas vidas estão voltadas para Ele em confiança e obediência. Esta é uma verdade profundamente reconfortante: Deus está atento às orações daqueles que O buscam sinceramente.
