A atenção volta para a correção em Provérbios 15:31: O ouvido que escuta a repreensão que dá a vida terá a sua morada entre os sábios (v. 31). Ouvir bem a correção é entrar na companhia dos sábios.
A pessoa que escuta faz mais do que simplesmente ouvir sons. Ela recebe e obedece. A repreensão é chamada de algo que dá a vida porque seu propósito não é a humilhação, mas o resgate. Ela afasta a pessoa da destruição e a reconduz à sabedoria.
Essa pessoa habitará entre os sábios, pois ouvir a correção muda o lugar a que pertencemos. Coloca a pessoa na comunidade dos que estão dispostos a aprender. A sabedoria não é apenas um conjunto de ideias; é uma comunhão moldada pela humilde receptividade à verdade.
