O capítulo termina com um resumo fundamental: O temor de Jeová é a instrução da sabedoria, e adiante da honra vai a humildade (v. 33). O versículo final de Provérbios 15:33 reúne os temas do capítulo em um princípio final.
O temor do Senhor é chamado de instrução para a sabedoria porque a submissão reverente a Deus é a escola onde se aprende a sabedoria. Sem essa postura, o conhecimento pode crescer, mas a sabedoria não. O temor de Jeová permanece o princípio e a estrutura contínua de uma vida sábia.
E antes da honra vem a humildade. A verdadeira celebração é precedida pela humildade. A ordem de Deus não recompensa o orgulho a longo prazo. Ela exalta os humildes.
