O homem vil cava o mal, sugerindo um esforço direcionado ao dano. Ele não é pego no pecado acidentalmente; ele o pratica com afinco. Esta é uma imagem vívida de uma pessoa que usa energia e engenhosidade para descobrir, instigar ou criar o mal.
Suas palavras são como fogo ardente. A fala se torna calor destrutivo, queimando tudo o que toca. Este versículo mostra mais uma vez como a linguagem pode se tornar um instrumento de devastação quando o coração está comprometido com o mal.
