Quem pisca os olhos e aperta os lábios está comunicando intenções secretas. A maldade muitas vezes se vale de sinais indiretos, comunicação codificada e coordenação oculta. O mal nem sempre é estridente; às vezes, é astuto.
Este provérbio adverte contra a sutileza social do pecado. A linguagem corporal e os gestos silenciosos podem contribuir para a perversidade tanto quanto a fala explícita. A sabedoria valoriza a retidão e a clareza; a maldade se deleita na manipulação dissimulada.
