Um coração alegre é um bom remédio, pois a alegria, a gratidão e a firmeza interior sustentam a vida. Isso não é um otimismo simplista, mas o reconhecimento de que a condição da alma afeta a pessoa como um todo. A alegria pode fortalecer a resistência, a perspectiva e a resiliência.
Em contraste, um espírito abatido resseca os ossos. Os ossos representam a força e a estrutura interior. Quando o espírito é esmagado, a vitalidade se esvai. Este provérbio nos convida à compaixão por aqueles que sofrem interiormente e nos lembra que a sabedoria inclui o cuidado com o coração, bem como com a conduta.
