Um dos versículos mais reconfortantes do capítulo aparece aqui em Provérbios 18:10: O nome de Jeová é uma torre forte, à qual o justo se acolhe e está seguro (v. 10). O próprio Deus é apresentado como refúgio.
O nome do SENHOR aponta para o Seu caráter revelado, Sua fidelidade, poder, amor da aliança e domínio sobre todas as coisas. Seu nome é chamado de torre forte porque Ele não é frágil, incerto ou parcial. Ele é um lugar de verdadeira segurança.
O justo corre para Ele e encontra segurança; isso nos proporciona uma imagem ativa. Os justos não apenas admiram a Deus à distância; eles recorrem a Ele em confiança. Segurança aqui não é a promessa de uma vida sem problemas, mas a certeza de que aqueles que se entregam a Deus estão protegidos no sentido mais verdadeiro e profundo.
