A fome de conhecimento do sábio é descrita em Provérbios 18:15: O coração do inteligente adquire conhecimento, e o ouvido dos sábios busca ao conhecimento (v. 15). A sabedoria não é estática. Ela está em constante aprendizado.
A mente do prudente adquire conhecimento porque a prudência pode ser ensinada. Os sábios sabem que não possuem toda a compreensão necessária. Por isso, permanecem abertos, atentos e dispostos a crescer.
Da mesma forma, o ouvido do sábio busca o conhecimento. A sabedoria escuta. Ela não fica apenas esperando por oportunidades para falar. Este provérbio revela a postura de uma vida sábia: uma prontidão ansiosa para receber o que é verdadeiro, útil e corretivo.
