Born: Circa 1620, Schlesien (Silesia).
Died: Circa 1682, Ohlau, Schlesien.
Janus served as precentor of two churches in Sorau, Silesia; rector at the Evangelical School in Sagan (1653); and pastor near Eckersdorf Gate (1664). He was expelled by Imperial Edict of March 13, 1668, which drove all evangelical pastors and teachers from the principality; it is said Janus became precentor at Ohlau at this time.

The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
