In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which is translated Dorcas). She was always doing good works and acts of charity.
For no one will be justified[fn] in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.
If Abraham was justified[fn] by works, he has something to boast about — but not before God.
Likewise, David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
For though her sons had not been born yet or done anything good or bad, so that God's purpose according to election might stand —
Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works.[fn] They stumbled over the stumbling stone.
and yet because we know that a person is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ,[fn] even we ourselves have believed in Christ Jesus. in everything. Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity[fn] in your teaching.
He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works.

This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.
Let our people learn to devote themselves to good works for pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.
For we who have believed enter the rest, in keeping with what[fn] he has said,
So I swore in my anger,
“They will not enter my rest,”
even though his works have been finished since the foundation of the world.
For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in this way: And on the seventh day God rested from all his works.
For the person who has entered his rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from his.
Therefore, let us leave the elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, faith in God,
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our[fn] consciences from dead works so that we can serve the living God?
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.”[fn] Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith by my works.
You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was made complete,
In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works in receiving the messengers and sending them out by a different route?
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles,[fn] so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.
“to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly concerning all the ungodly acts that they have done in an ungodly way, and concerning all the harsh things ungodly sinners have said against him.”
“Look, I will throw her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction. Unless they repent of her[fn] works,
The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands to stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.
