The LORD H3068 has stirred H5782 up H5782 the spirit H7307 of the kings H4428 of the Medes H4074,
Because H3588 His plan H4209 is against H5921 Babylon H894 to destroy H7843 it;

“Righteousness H6666 belongs to You, Lord H136, but to us [fn]open H6440 shame H1322, as it is this H2088 day H3117—to the men H376 of Judah H3063, the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389, and all H3605 Israel H3478, those who are nearby H7138 and those who are far H7350 away in all H3605 the countries H776 to which H834 You have driven H5080 them, because of their unfaithful H4603 H4604 deeds H4604 which H834 they have committed H4603 against You.
“Then the king H4428 will do H6213 as he pleases H7522, and he will exalt H7311 himself and boast H1431 against H5921 every H3605 god H410 and will speak H1696 [fn]dreadful H6381 things H6381 against H5921 the God H410 of gods H410; and he will be H6743 successful H6743 until H5704 the indignation H2195 is finished H3615, because H3588 that which is determined H2782 will be done H6213.
When the LORD H3068 first H8462 spoke H1696 through Hosea H1954, the LORD H3068 said H559 to Hosea H1954, “Go H1980, take H3947 for yourself a wife H802 [fn]inclined to infidelity H2183, and children H3206 of infidelity H2183; for the land H776 commits H2181 flagrant H2181 infidelity H2181, [fn]abandoning H4480 H310 the LORD H3068.”
“For their mother H517 has committed H2181 prostitution H2181;

“‘A son H1121 honors H3513 his father H1, and a servant H5650 his master H113. Then if H518 I am a father H1, where H346 is My honor H3519? And if H518 I am a master H113, where H346 is My [fn]respect H4172?' says H559 the LORD H3068 of armies H6635 to you, the priests H3548 who despise H959 My name H8034! But you say H559, ‘How H4100 have we despised H959 Your name H8034?'
“[fn]For behold H2009, the day H3117 is coming H935, burning H1197 like a furnace H8574; and all H3605 the arrogant H2086 and every H3605 evildoer H6213 H7564 will be chaff H7179; and the day H3117 that is coming H935 will set H3857 them ablaze H3857,” says H559 the LORD H3068 of armies H6635, “so H834 that H834 it will leave H5800 them neither H3808 root H8328 nor H3808 branches H6057.
