Offerings for the Temple

1 Then King ^H4428 David ^H1732 said ^H559 to the entire ^H3605 assembly ^H6951, “My son ^H1121 Solomon ^H8010, whom alone ^H259 God ^H430 has chosen ^H977, is still young ^H5288 and inexperienced ^H7390 and the work ^H4399 is great ^H1419; for the [fn]temple ^H1002 is not for man ^H120, but for Yahweh ^H3068 God ^H430.

2 Now with all ^H3605 my power ^H3581 I have prepared ^H3559 for the house ^H1004 of my God ^H430 the gold ^H2091 for the things of gold ^H2091, and the silver ^H3701 for the things of silver ^H3701, and the bronze ^H5178 for the things of bronze ^H5178, the iron ^H1270 for the things of iron ^H1270, and wood ^H6086 for the things of wood ^H6086, onyx ^H7718 stones ^H68 and inlaid ^H4394 stones, stones ^H68 of antimony ^H6320 and stones ^H7553 of ^H7553 various ^H7553 colors ^H7553, and all ^H3605 kinds of precious ^H3368 stones ^H68 and alabaster ^H7893 in abundance ^H7230. 3 Moreover ^H5750, in my pleasure ^H7521 in the house ^H1004 of my God ^H430, the treasure ^H5459 I have ^H3426 of gold ^H2091 and silver ^H3701, I give ^H5414 to the house ^H1004 of my God ^H430, over ^H4605 and above ^H4480 H4605 all ^H3605 that I have already prepared ^H3559 for the holy ^H6944 [fn]house ^H1004, 4 namely, [fn]3,000 ^H7969 H505 talents ^H3603 of gold ^H2091, of the gold ^H2091 of Ophir ^H211, and [fn]7,000 ^H7651 H505 talents ^H3603 of refined ^H2212 silver ^H3701, to overlay ^H2902 the walls ^H7023 of the [fn]buildings ^H1004; 5 of gold ^H2091 for the things of gold ^H2091 and of silver ^H3701 for the things of silver ^H3701, that is, for all ^H3605 the work ^H4399 done by the hand ^H3027 of craftsmen ^H2796. Who ^H4310 then would offer ^H5068 willingly ^H5068 [fn]to ordain ^H4390 H3027 himself this day ^H3117 to Yahweh ^H3068?”

6 Then the commanders ^H8269 of the fathers’ ^H1 households, and the commanders ^H8269 of the tribes ^H7626 of Israel ^H3478, and the commanders ^H8269 of thousands ^H505 and of hundreds ^H3967, with the commanders ^H8269 of the king’s ^H4428 work ^H4399, offered ^H5068 willingly ^H5068; 7 and for the service ^H5656 for the house ^H1004 of God ^H430 they gave ^H5414 5,000 ^H2568 H505 talents ^H3603 and 10,000 ^H6235 H505 [fn]darics ^H150 of gold ^H2091, and 10,000 ^H6235 H505 talents ^H3603 of silver ^H3701, and 18,000 ^{H8083 H7239 H505} talents ^H3603 of brass ^H5178, and 100,000 ^H3967 H505 talents ^H3603 of iron ^H1270. 8 [fn]And whoever possessed ^H4672 precious stones ^H68 gave ^H5414 them to the treasury ^H214 of the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068, [fn]in the care ^H3027 of Jehiel ^H3171 the Gershonite ^H1649. 9 Then the people ^H5971 were glad ^H8055 because ^H5921 they had offered ^H5068 so willingly ^H5068, for they made ^H5068 their freewill ^H5068 offering ^H5068 to Yahweh ^H3068 with a whole ^H8003 heart ^H3820, and King ^H4428 David ^H1732 also ^H1571 was exceedingly glad ^H8055.

David Blesses Yahweh

10 So David ^H1732 blessed ^H1288 Yahweh ^H3068 in the sight ^H5869 of all ^H3605 the assembly ^H6951; and David ^H1732 said ^H559, “Blessed ^H1288 are You, O Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 our father ^H1, from everlasting ^H5769 to everlasting ^H5769.

11 Yours, O Yahweh ^H3068, is the greatness ^H1420 and the [fn]power ^H1369 and the glory ^H8597 and the [fn]victory ^H5331 and the majesty ^H1935, indeed ^H3588 everything ^H3605 that is in the heavens ^H8064 and the earth ^H776; Yours is the kingdom ^H4467, O Yahweh ^H3068, and You exalt ^H5375 Yourself as head ^H7218 over all ^H3605. 12 Both riches ^H6239 and honor ^H3519 come from You, and You rule ^H4910 over all ^H3605, and in Your hand ^H3027 is power ^H3581 and might ^H1369; and it lies in Your hand ^H3027 to make ^H1431 great ^H1431 and to strengthen ^H2388 everyone ^H3605. 13 So now ^H6258, our God ^H430, we are thanking ^H3034 You and praising ^H1984 Your glorious ^H8597 name ^H8034.

14 “But who ^H4310 am I and who ^H4310 are my people ^H5971 that we should [fn]be ^H6113 able ^H6113 H3581 to offer ^H5068 as willingly as this ^H2088? For all ^H3605 things ^H3605 come from You, and from Your hand ^H3027 we have given ^H5414 You. 15 For we are sojourners ^H1616 before ^H6440 You, and foreign ^H8453 residents ^H8453, like all ^H3605 our fathers ^H1 were; our days ^H3117 on the earth ^H776 are like a shadow ^H6738, and there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 hope ^H4723. 16 O Yahweh ^H3068 our God ^H430, all ^H3605 this ^H2088 abundance ^H1995 that we have prepared ^H3559 to build ^H1129 You a house ^H1004 for Your holy ^H6944 name ^H8034, it is from Your hand ^H3027, and all ^H3605 is Yours. 17 And I know ^H3045, O my God ^H430, that You try ^H974 the heart ^H3824 and delight ^H7521 in uprightness ^H4339. I, in the uprightness ^H3476 of my heart ^H3824, have willingly ^H5068 offered ^H5068 all ^H3605 these ^H428 things. 20 Then David ^H1732 said ^H559 to all ^H3605 the assembly ^H6951, “Now ^H4994 bless ^H1288 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430.” And all ^H3605 the assembly ^H6951 blessed ^H1288 Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of their fathers ^H1, and bowed ^H6915 low ^H6915 and prostrated ^H2331 themselves to Yahweh ^H3068 and to the king ^H4428.

Sacrifices to Yahweh

21 And on the next ^H4283 day ^H3117 they [fn]made ^H2076 sacrifices ^H2077 to Yahweh ^H3068 and offered ^H5927 burnt ^H5930 offerings ^H5930 to Yahweh ^H3068, 1,000 ^H505 bulls ^H6499, 1,000 ^H505 rams ^H352, and 1,000 ^H505 lambs ^H3532, with their drink ^H5262 offerings ^H5262 and sacrifices ^H2077 in abundance ^H7230 for all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478. 22 So they ate ^H398 and drank ^H8354 that day ^H3117 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 with great ^H1419 gladness ^H8057.

26 Now David ^H1732 the son ^H1121 of Jesse ^H3448 reigned ^H4427 over ^H5921 all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478. 27 And the [fn]time ^H3117 which ^H834 he reigned ^H4427 over ^H5921 Israel ^H3478 was forty ^H705 years ^H8141; in Hebron ^H2275 he reigned ^H4427 seven ^H7651 years ^H8141 and [fn]in Jerusalem ^H3389 thirty-three ^H7970 H7969 years.

Death of David

28 Then he died ^H4191 in a good ^H2896 old ^H7872 age ^H7872, full ^H7649 of days ^H3117, riches ^H6239 and glory ^H3519; and his son ^H1121 Solomon ^H8010 became king ^H4427 in ^H8478 his place ^H8478. 29 Now the acts ^H1697 of King ^H4428 David ^H1732, from first ^H7223 to last ^H314, behold, they are written ^H3789 in the chronicles ^H1697 of Samuel ^H8050 the seer ^H7203, in the chronicles ^H1697 of Nathan ^H5416 the prophet ^H5030 and in the chronicles ^H1697 of Gad ^H1410 the seer ^H2374, 30 with all ^H3605 his reign ^H4438, his might ^H1369, and the circumstances ^H6256 which ^H834 came ^H5674 on him, on Israel ^H3478, and on all ^H3605 the kingdoms ^H4467 of the lands ^H776.
