The Queen of Sheba

1 Now the queen ^H4436 of Sheba ^H7614 heard ^H8085 the report ^H8088 about Solomon ^H8010. So she came ^H935 to Jerusalem ^H3389 to test ^H5254 Solomon ^H8010 with riddles ^H2420. She had a very ^H3966 glorious ^H3515 retinue ^H2428, with camels ^H1581 carrying ^H5375 spices ^H1314 and a large ^H7230 amount ^H7230 of gold ^H2091 and precious ^H3368 stones ^H68. And she came ^H935 to Solomon ^H8010 and spoke ^H1696 with him about all ^H3605 that was in her heart ^H3824.

You exceed ^H3254 the report ^H8052 which I heard ^H8085. 7 How [fn]blessed ^H835 are your men ^H376, how [fn]blessed ^H835 are these ^H428 your servants ^H5650 who stand ^H5975 before ^H6440 you continually ^H8548 and hear ^H8085 your wisdom ^H2451. 8 Blessed ^H1288 be Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 who ^H834 delighted ^H2654 in you, to set ^H5414 you on His throne ^H3678 as king ^H4428 for Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430; because your God ^H430 loved ^H157 Israel ^H3478 to cause them to stand ^H5975 forever ^H5769, therefore He gave ^H5414 you as king ^H4428 over ^H5921 them, to do ^H6213 justice ^H4941 and righteousness ^H6666.” 9 Then she gave ^H5414 the king ^H4428 [fn]120 ^H3967 H6242 talents ^H3603 of gold ^H2091 and a very ^H3966 great ^H7230 amount of spices ^H1314 and precious ^H3368 stones ^H68. There had ^H1961 never ^H3808 been ^H1961 spice ^H1314 like that which ^H834 the queen ^H4436 of Sheba ^H7614 gave ^H5414 to King ^H4428 Solomon ^H8010.

10 Also, the servants ^H5650 of Huram ^H2361 and the servants ^H5650 of Solomon ^H8010, who ^H834 brought ^H935 gold ^H2091 from Ophir ^H211, brought ^H935 algum ^H418 trees ^H6086 and precious ^H3368 stones ^H68. 11 And the king ^H4428 made ^H6213 of the algum ^H418 trees ^H418 steps ^H4546 for the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068 and for the king’s ^H4428 house ^H1004, and lyres ^H3658 and harps ^H5035 for the singers ^H7891; and none ^H3808 like that was seen ^H7200 before ^H6440 in the land ^H776 of Judah ^H3063.

12 Thus King ^H4428 Solomon ^H8010 gave ^H5414 to the queen ^H4436 of Sheba ^H7614 all ^H3605 her desire ^H2656 which ^H834 she asked ^H7592, besides ^H4480 H905 a return for what ^H834 she had brought ^H935 to the king ^H4428. Then she turned ^H2015 around ^H2015 and went ^H1980 to her own land ^H776 together with her servants ^H5650.

Solomon’s Riches and Wisdom

13 Now the weight ^H4948 of gold ^H2091 which ^H834 came ^H935 to Solomon ^H8010 in one ^H259 year ^H8141 was 666 ^{H8337 H3967 H8346 H8337} talents ^H3603 of gold ^H2091,

14 besides ^H905 H4480 that which the traders ^H376 H8446 and merchants ^H5503 brought ^H935; and all ^H3605 the kings ^H4428 of Arabia ^H6152 and the governors ^H6346 of the country ^H776 brought ^H935 gold ^H2091 and silver ^H3701 to Solomon ^H8010. 15 And King ^H4428 Solomon ^H8010 made ^H6213 200 ^H3967 large ^H6793 shields ^H6793 of beaten ^H7819 gold ^H2091, [fn]using ^H5927 [fn]600 ^H8337 H3967 shekels of beaten ^H7819 gold ^H2091 on each ^H259 large ^H6793 shield ^H6793. 16 And he made 300 ^H7969 H3967 shields ^H4043 of beaten ^H7819 gold ^H2091, [fn]using ^H5927 [fn]300 ^H7969 H3967 shekels of gold ^H2091 on each ^H259 shield ^H4043, and the king ^H4428 put ^H5414 them in the house ^H1004 of the forest ^H3293 of Lebanon ^H3844.

22 So King ^H4428 Solomon ^H8010 became ^H1431 greater ^H1431 than ^H4480 all ^H3605 the kings ^H4428 of the earth ^H776 in riches ^H6239 and wisdom ^H2451. 23 And all ^H3605 the kings ^H4428 of the earth ^H776 were seeking ^H1245 the presence ^H6440 of Solomon ^H8010, to hear ^H8085 his wisdom ^H2451 which ^H834 God ^H430 had put ^H5414 in his heart ^H3820. 24 And they brought ^H935 every ^H376 man ^H376 his present ^H4503, articles ^H3627 of silver ^H3701 and gold ^H2091, garments ^H8008, weapons ^H5402, spices ^H1314, horses ^H5483 and mules ^H6505, a set ^H1697 amount ^H1697 year ^H8141 by year ^H8141.

The Death of Solomon

29 Now the rest ^H7605 of the acts ^H1697 of Solomon ^H8010, from first ^H7223 to last ^H314, are they not written ^H3789 in the [fn]chronicles ^H1697 of Nathan ^H5416 the prophet ^H5030, and in the prophecy ^H5016 of Ahijah ^H281 the Shilonite ^H7888, and in the visions ^H2378 of [fn]Iddo ^H3260 the seer ^H2374 concerning ^H5921 Jeroboam ^H3379 the son ^H1121 of Nebat ^H5028?

30 Thus Solomon ^H8010 reigned ^H4427 forty ^H705 years ^H8141 in Jerusalem ^H3389 over ^H5921 all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478. 31 And Solomon ^H8010 slept ^H7901 with his fathers ^H1 and was buried ^H6912 in the city ^H5892 of his father ^H1 David ^H1732; and his son ^H1121 Rehoboam ^H7346 became ^H4427 king ^H4427 in ^H8478 his place ^H8478.
