The Vision of the Four Beasts

1 In the first ^H2298 year ^H8140 of Belshazzar ^H1113 king ^H4430 of Babylon ^H895 Daniel ^H1841 saw ^H2370 a dream ^H2493 and visions ^H2376 in his head ^H7217 as he lay on his bed ^H4903; then ^H116 he wrote ^H3790 the dream ^H2493 down ^H3790 and said ^H560 the [fn]following summary ^H7217 of the matter ^H4406.

2 Daniel ^H1841 answered ^H6032 and said ^H560, “I was looking ^H2370 in my vision ^H2376 by night ^H3916, and behold ^H718, the four ^H703 winds ^H7308 of heaven ^H8065 were stirring ^H1519 up ^H1519 the great ^H7229 sea ^H3221. 3 And four ^H703 great ^H7229 beasts ^H2423 were coming ^H5559 up ^H5559 from the sea ^H3221, different ^H8133 from one ^H1668 another ^H1668. 4 The first ^H6933 was like a lion ^H744 and had the wings ^H1611 of an eagle ^H5403. I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370 until ^H5705 H1768 its wings ^H1611 were plucked ^H4804, and it was lifted ^H5191 up ^H5191 from the ground ^H772 and made ^H6966 to stand ^H6966 on two feet ^H7271 like a man ^H606; and a heart ^H3825 of a man ^H606 was given ^H3052 to it. 5 And behold ^H718, another ^H321 beast ^H2423, a second ^H8578 one in the likeness ^H1821 of a bear ^H1678. And it was raised ^H6966 up ^H6966 on one ^H2298 side ^H7859, and three ^H8532 ribs ^H5967 were in its mouth ^H6433 between ^H997 its teeth ^H8128; and thus ^H3652 they said ^H560 to it, ‘Arise ^H6966, devour ^H399 much ^H7690 meat ^H1321!’ 6 After ^H892 this ^H1836 I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370, and behold ^H718, another ^H321 one, like a leopard ^H5245, which ^H1768 had on its [fn]back ^H1355 four ^H703 wings ^H1611 of a bird ^H5776; the beast ^H2423 also had four ^H703 heads ^H7217, and [fn]dominion ^H7985 was given ^H3052 to it. 7 After ^H892 this ^H1836 I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370 in the night ^H3916 visions ^H2376, and behold ^H718, a fourth ^H7244 beast ^H2423, fearsome ^H1763 and terrifying ^H574 and extraordinarily ^H3493 strong ^H8624; and it had large ^H7229 iron ^H6523 teeth ^H8128. It devoured ^H399 and crushed ^H1855 and trampled ^H7512 down ^H7512 the remainder ^H7606 with its feet ^H7271; and it was different ^H8133 from all ^H3606 the beasts ^H2423 that were before ^H6925 it, and it had ten ^H6236 horns ^H7162. 8 While I was contemplating ^H7920 the horns ^H7162, behold ^H431, another ^H321 horn ^H7162, a little ^H2192 one ^H2192, came ^H5559 up ^H5559 among ^H997 them, and three ^H8532 of the first ^H6933 horns ^H7162 were pulled ^H6132 out ^H6132 by the roots ^H6132 before ^H4481 H6925 it; and behold ^H431, [fn]this ^H1668 horn ^H7162 possessed eyes ^H5870 like the eyes ^H5870 of a man ^H606 and a mouth ^H6433 speaking ^H4449 great ^H7229 boasts.

The Ancient of Days

9 “I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370

Until ^H5705 H1768 thrones ^H3764 were set ^H7412 up,

And the Ancient ^H6268 of Days ^H3118 was seated ^H3488;

His clothing ^H3831 was like white ^H2358 snow ^H8517

And the hair ^H8177 of His head ^H7217 like pure ^H5343 wool ^H6015.

His throne ^H3764 was [fn]ablaze ^H7631 with fire ^H5135,

Its wheels ^H1535 were a burning ^H1815 fire ^H5135.

10 “A river ^H5103 of fire ^H5135 was flowing ^H5047

And coming ^H5312 out ^H5312 from before ^H6925 Him;

Thousands ^H506 upon thousands ^H506 were attending ^H8120 Him,

And myriads ^H7240 upon myriads ^H7240 were standing ^H6966 before ^H6925 Him;

The court ^H1780 sat ^H3488,

And the books ^H5609 were opened ^H6606.

11 Then ^H116 I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370 because ^H4481 of the sound ^H7032 of the great ^H7229 boastful words ^H4406 which ^H1768 the horn ^H7162 was speaking ^H4449; I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370 until ^H5705 H1768 the beast ^H2423 was killed ^H6992, and its body ^H1655 was destroyed ^H7 and given ^H3052 to the burning ^H3346 [fn]fire ^H785.

12 As for the rest ^H7606 of the beasts ^H2423, their [fn]dominion ^H7985 was taken ^H5709 away ^H5709, but an extension ^H754 of life ^H2417 was given ^H3052 to them for an appointed ^H2166 season ^H2166 of time ^H5732.

The Son of Man

13 “I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370 in the night ^H3916 visions ^H2376,

And behold ^H718, with the clouds ^H6050 of heaven ^H8065

One like a Son ^H1247 of Man ^H606 was coming ^H858,

And He came ^H4291 up ^H4291 to the Ancient ^H6268 of Days ^H3118

And came ^H7127 near ^H7127 before ^H6925 Him.

14 “And to Him was given ^H3052 [fn]dominion ^H7985,

Glory ^H3367, and a kingdom ^H4437,

That all ^H3606 the peoples ^H5972, nations ^H524, and men of every tongue ^H3961

Might serve ^H6399 Him.

His [fn]dominion ^H7985 is an everlasting ^H5957 [fn]dominion ^H7985

Which ^H1768 will not be taken ^H5709 away ^H5709;

And His kingdom ^H4437 is one

Which ^H1768 will not be destroyed ^H2255.

The Vision Interpreted

15 “As for me, Daniel ^H1841, my spirit ^H7308 was distressed ^H3735 [fn]within ^H1459 me, and the visions ^H2376 of my head ^H7217 kept alarming ^H927 me.

16 I came ^H7127 near ^H7127 to one ^H2298 of those who were standing ^H6966 by and began seeking ^H1156 out from him the [fn]exact ^H3330 meaning ^H3330 of all ^H3606 this ^H1836. So he said ^H560 it to me and made ^H3046 known ^H3046 to me the interpretation ^H6591 of these things ^H4406: 17 ‘These ^H459 great ^H7229 beasts ^H2423, which ^H1768 are four ^H703 in number, are four ^H703 kings ^H4430 who will arise ^H6966 from the earth ^H772. 18 But the [fn]saints ^H6922 of the Highest ^H5946 One ^H5946 will receive ^H6902 the kingdom ^H4437 and possess ^H2631 the kingdom ^H4437 forever ^H5957, [fn]for all ^H5957 ages ^H5957 to ^H5957 come ^H5957.’

19 “Then ^H116 I desired ^H6634 to know ^H3321 the ^H3321 [fn]exact ^H3321 meaning ^H3321 of the fourth ^H7244 beast ^H2423, which ^H1768 was different ^H8133 from all ^H3606 [fn]the others, extraordinarily ^H3493 fearsome ^H1763, with its teeth ^H8128 of iron ^H6523 and its claws ^H2953 of bronze ^H5174, and which devoured ^H399, crushed ^H1855, and trampled ^H7512 down ^H7512 the remainder ^H7606 with its feet ^H7271, 20 and the meaning of the ten ^H6236 horns ^H7162 that were on its head ^H7217 and the other ^H321 horn which ^H1768 came ^H5559 up ^H5559 and before ^H4481 H6925 which three ^H8532 of them fell ^H5308, namely, that horn ^H7162 which had eyes ^H5870 and a mouth ^H6433 speaking ^H4449 great ^H7229 boasts and [fn]which was larger ^H7229 in appearance ^H2376 than ^H4481 its associates ^H2273. 21 I kept ^H1934 looking ^H2370, and that horn ^H7162 was waging ^H5648 war ^H7129 with the saints ^H6922 and overcoming ^H3202 them 22 until ^H5705 H1768 the Ancient ^H6268 of Days ^H3118 came ^H858 and judgment ^H1780 was given ^H3052 in favor of the saints ^H6922 of the Highest ^H5946 One ^H5946, and the season ^H2166 arrived ^H4291 when the saints ^H6922 took ^H2631 possession ^H2631 of the kingdom ^H4437.

23 “Thus ^H3652 he said ^H560: ‘The fourth ^H7244 beast ^H2423 will be a fourth ^H7244 kingdom ^H4437 on the earth ^H772, which ^H1768 will be different ^H8133 from all ^H3606 the other kingdoms ^H4437 and will devour ^H399 the whole ^H3606 earth ^H772 and tread ^H1759 it down ^H1759 and crush ^H1855 it. 24 As for the ten ^H6236 horns ^H7162, out of this kingdom ^H4437 ten ^H6236 kings ^H4430 will arise ^H6966; and another ^H321 will arise ^H6966 after ^H311 them, and he will be different ^H8133 from the previous ^H6933 ones ^H6933 and will make ^H8214 low ^H8214 three ^H8532 kings ^H4430. 25 He will speak ^H4449 words ^H4406 against ^H6655 the Most ^H5943 High ^H5943 and wear ^H1080 down ^H1080 the saints ^H6922 of the Highest ^H5946 One ^H5946, and he will intend ^H5452 to make ^H8133 changes ^H8133 in seasons ^H2166 and in law ^H1882; and [fn]they will be given ^H3052 into his hand ^H3028 for a [fn]time ^H5732, [fn]times ^H5732, and half ^H6387 a [fn]time ^H5732. 26 But the court ^H1780 will sit ^H3488 for judgment, and his dominion ^H7985 will be taken ^H5709 away ^H5709, [fn]annihilated ^H8046 and destroyed ^H7 [fn]forever ^H5491. 27 Then the [fn]reign ^H4437, the dominion ^H7985, and the greatness ^H7238 of all the kingdoms ^H4437 under ^H8460 the whole ^H3606 heaven ^H8065 will be given ^H3052 to the people ^H5972 of the saints ^H6922 of the Highest ^H5946 One ^H5946; His kingdom ^H4437 will be an everlasting ^H5957 kingdom ^H4437, and all ^H3606 the dominions ^H7985 will serve ^H6399 and obey ^H8086 Him.’

28 “[fn]At this ^H3542 point ^H3542 the matter ^H4406 of this revelation ended ^H5491. As for me, Daniel ^H1841, my thoughts ^H7476 were greatly ^H7690 alarming ^H927 me, and the [fn]splendor ^H2122 of my face changed ^H8133, but I kept ^H5202 the matter ^H4406 in my heart ^H3821.”
