Ezekiel Sent to the House of Israel

1 Then He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, eat ^H398 what ^H834 you find ^H4672; eat ^H398 this ^H2088 scroll ^H4039, and go ^H1980, speak ^H1696 to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478.”

2 So I opened ^H6605 my mouth ^H6310, and He [fn]fed ^H398 me this ^H2088 scroll ^H4039. 3 And He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, [fn]feed ^H398 your stomach ^H990 and fill ^H4390 your [fn]body ^H4578 with this ^H2088 scroll ^H4039 which ^H834 I am giving ^H5414 you.” Then I ate ^H398 it, and it was sweet ^H4966 as honey ^H1706 in my mouth ^H6310.

4 Then He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, go ^H1980 now, come ^H935 to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, and you shall speak ^H1696 with My words ^H1697 to them. 5 For you are not being sent ^H7971 to a people ^H5971 of [fn]unintelligible ^H6012 lips ^H8193 or a difficult ^H3515 tongue ^H3956, but to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, 6 nor ^H3808 to many ^H7227 peoples ^H5971 of [fn]unintelligible ^H6012 lips ^H8193 or a difficult ^H3515 tongue ^H3956, whose ^H834 words ^H1697 you cannot ^H3808 [fn]understand ^H8085. [fn]But I have sent ^H7971 you to them [fn]who should listen ^H8085 to you; 7 yet the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 will not be ^H14 willing ^H14 to listen ^H8085 to you, since ^H3588 they are ^H14 not willing ^H14 to listen ^H8085 to Me. Surely ^H3588 the whole ^H3605 house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 is [fn]stubborn with a strong ^H2389 forehead ^H4696 and stiff ^H7186 heart ^H3820. 8 Behold ^H2009, I have made ^H5414 your face ^H6440 as strong ^H2389 as their faces ^H6440 and your forehead ^H4696 as strong ^H2389 as their foreheads ^H4696. 9 Like [fn]diamond ^H8068 stronger ^H2389 than ^H4480 flint ^H6864 I have made ^H5414 your forehead ^H4696. Do not be ^H3372 afraid ^H3372 of them or be dismayed ^H2865 before ^H4480 H6440 them, though ^H3588 they are a rebellious ^H4805 house ^H1004.” 10 Moreover, He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, take ^H3947 into your heart ^H3824 all ^H3605 My words ^H1697 which ^H834 I will speak ^H1696 to you and listen ^H8085 with your ears ^H241. 11 And go ^H1980 now, come ^H935 to the exiles ^H1473, to the sons ^H1121 of your people ^H5971, and you shall speak ^H1696 to them and say ^H559 to them, whether ^H518 they listen ^H8085 or ^H518 whether they refuse ^H2308, ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068.’”

12 Then the Spirit ^H7307 lifted ^H5375 me up ^H5375, and I heard ^H8085 a great ^H1419 rumbling ^H7494 sound ^H6963 behind ^H310 me, “Blessed ^H1288 be the glory ^H3519 of Yahweh ^H3068 [fn]in His place ^H4725.” 13 And I heard the sound ^H6963 of the wings ^H3671 of the living ^H2416 creatures ^H2416 touching ^H5401 one ^H802 another ^H269 and the sound ^H6963 of the wheels ^H212 beside ^H5980 them, even a great ^H1419 rumbling ^H7494 sound ^H6963. 14 So the Spirit ^H7307 lifted ^H5375 me up ^H5375 and took ^H3947 me away; and I went ^H1980 embittered ^H4751 in the wrath ^H2534 of my spirit ^H7307, and the hand ^H3027 of Yahweh ^H3068 was strong ^H2389 on me. 15 Then I came ^H935 to the exiles ^H1473 who lived ^H3427 beside ^H413 the river ^H5104 Chebar ^H3529 at Tel-abib ^H8512, and I sat ^H3427 there ^H8033 seven ^H7651 days ^H3117 where ^H8033 they were living ^H3427, causing ^H8074 [fn]consternation ^H8074 among ^H8432 them.

16 Now it happened at the end ^H7097 of seven ^H7651 days ^H3117, that the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me, saying ^H559, 17 “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, I have given ^H5414 you as a watchman ^H6822 to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478; so you will hear ^H8085 a word ^H1697 from My mouth ^H6310, and you shall warn ^H2094 them from Me. 18 When I say ^H559 to the wicked ^H7563, ‘You will surely ^H4191 die ^H4191,’ and you do not warn ^H2094 him or speak ^H1696 out ^H1696 to warn ^H2094 the wicked ^H7563 from his wicked ^H7563 way ^H1870 that he may live ^H2421, that wicked ^H7563 man ^H7563 shall die ^H4191 in his iniquity ^H5771, but his blood ^H1818 I will require ^H1245 at your hand ^H3027. 19 Yet if ^H3588 you have warned ^H2094 the wicked ^H7563 and he does not turn ^H7725 from his wickedness ^H7562 or from his wicked ^H7563 way ^H1870, he shall die ^H4191 in his iniquity ^H5771; but you have delivered ^H5337 yourself ^H5315. 20 Again, when a righteous ^H6662 man ^H6662 turns ^H7725 away ^H7725 from his righteousness ^H6664 and does ^H6213 evil ^H5766, and I put ^H5414 a stumbling ^H4383 block ^H4383 before ^H6440 him, he will die ^H4191; since ^H3588 you have not warned ^H2094 him, he shall die ^H4191 in his sin ^H2403, and his righteous ^H6666 deeds ^H6666 which ^H834 he has done ^H6213 shall not be remembered ^H2142; but his blood ^H1818 I will require ^H1245 at your hand ^H3027. 21 However, if ^H3588 you have warned ^H2094 [fn]the righteous ^H6662 man ^H6662 that the righteous ^H6662 should not sin ^H2398 and he does not sin ^H2398, he shall surely ^H2421 live ^H2421 because ^H3588 he took ^H2094 warning ^H2094; and you have delivered ^H5337 yourself ^H5315.”

22 And the hand ^H3027 of Yahweh ^H3068 was on me there ^H8033, and He said ^H559 to me, “Get ^H6965 up ^H6965, go ^H3318 out ^H3318 to the plain ^H1237, and there ^H8033 I will speak ^H1696 to you.” 23 So I got ^H6965 up ^H6965 and went ^H3318 out ^H3318 to the plain ^H1237; and behold ^H2009, the glory ^H3519 of Yahweh ^H3068 was standing ^H5975 there ^H8033, like the glory ^H3519 which ^H834 I saw ^H7200 by the river ^H5104 Chebar ^H3529, and I fell ^H5307 on my face ^H6440. 24 The Spirit ^H7307 then entered ^H935 me and caused me to stand ^H5975 on my feet ^H7272, and He spoke ^H1696 with me and said ^H559 to me, “Go ^H935, shut ^H5462 yourself up ^H5462 in ^H5462 your house ^H1004. 25 Now as for you, son ^H1121 of man ^H120, they will put ^H5414 ropes ^H5688 on you and bind ^H631 you with them so that you cannot ^H3808 go ^H3318 out ^H3318 among ^H8432 them. 26 Moreover, I will make your tongue ^H3956 cling ^H1692 to [fn]the roof ^H2441 of ^H2441 your mouth ^H2441 so that you will be ^H481 mute ^H481 and cannot ^H3808 be a man ^H376 who reproves ^H3198 them, for they are a rebellious ^H4805 house ^H1004. 27 But when I speak ^H1696 to you, I will open ^H6605 your mouth ^H6310, and you will say ^H559 to them, ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068.’ He who hears ^H8085, let him hear ^H8085; and he who refuses ^H2310, let him refuse ^H2308; for they are a rebellious ^H4805 house ^H1004.
