The Nephilim and the Daughters of Men

1 Now it happened ^H1961, when ^H3588 men ^H120 began ^H2490 to multiply ^H7231 on the face ^H6440 of the land ^H127, and daughters ^H1323 were born ^H3205 to them,

2 that the sons ^H1121 of God ^H430 saw ^H7200 that the daughters ^H1323 of men ^H120 were good ^H2896 in appearance; and they took ^H3947 wives ^H802 for themselves, whomever ^H3605 H834 they chose ^H977. 3 Then Yahweh ^H3068 said ^H559, “My Spirit ^H7307 shall not [fn]strive ^H1777 with man ^H120 forever ^H5769 [fn]because ^H7683 he indeed ^H7683 is flesh ^H1320; [fn]nevertheless his days ^H3117 shall be 120 ^H3967 H6242 years ^H8141.” 4 The Nephilim ^H5303 were on the earth ^H776 in those ^H1992 days ^H3117, and also ^H1571 afterward ^H310 H3651, when ^H834 the sons ^H1121 of God ^H430 came ^H935 in ^H935 to the daughters ^H1323 of men ^H120, and they bore ^H3205 children to them. Those ^H1992 were the mighty ^H1368 men ^H1368 who ^H834 were of old ^H5769, men ^H376 of renown ^H8034.

5 Then Yahweh ^H3068 saw ^H7200 that the evil ^H7451 of man ^H120 was great ^H7227 on the earth ^H776, and that every ^H3605 intent ^H3336 of the thoughts ^H4284 of his heart ^H3820 was only ^H7534 evil ^H7451 continually ^H3605 H3117. 6 And Yahweh ^H3068 regretted ^H5162 that He had made ^H6213 man ^H120 on the earth ^H776, and He was grieved ^H6087 [fn]in His heart ^H3820. 7 And Yahweh ^H3068 said ^H559, “I will blot ^H4229 out ^H4229 man ^H120 whom ^H834 I have created ^H1254 from the face ^H6440 of the land ^H127, from man ^H120 to animals ^H929 to creeping ^H7431 things ^H7431 and to birds ^H5775 of the [fn]sky ^H8064; for I regret ^H5162 that I have made ^H6213 them.” 8 But Noah ^H5146 found ^H4672 favor ^H2580 in the eyes ^H5869 of Yahweh ^H3068.

The Generations of Noah

9 These ^H428 are the generations ^H8435 of Noah ^H5146. Noah ^H5146 was a righteous ^H6662 man ^H376, [fn]blameless ^H8549 among those in his generations ^H1755; Noah ^H5146 walked ^H1980 with God ^H430.

10 And Noah ^H5146 [fn]became ^H3205 the father ^H3205 of three ^H7969 sons ^H1121: Shem ^H8035, Ham ^H2526, and Japheth ^H3315.

11 Now the earth ^H776 was ^H7843 corrupt ^H7843 before ^H6440 God ^H430, and the earth ^H776 was filled ^H4390 with violence ^H2555. 12 And God ^H430 saw ^H7200 the earth ^H776, and behold ^H2009, it was ^H7843 corrupt ^H7843; for all ^H3605 flesh ^H1320 had corrupted ^H7843 their way ^H1870 upon the earth ^H776.

13 Then God ^H430 said ^H559 to Noah ^H5146, “The end ^H7093 of all ^H3605 flesh ^H1320 has come ^H935 before ^H6440 Me; for the earth ^H776 is filled ^H4390 with violence ^H2555 because ^H4480 H6440 of them; and behold ^H2009, I am about to destroy ^H7843 them with the earth ^H776. 14 Make ^H6213 for yourself an ark ^H8392 of gopher ^H1613 wood ^H6086; you shall make ^H6213 the ark ^H8392 with rooms ^H7064, and you shall [fn]cover ^H3722 it inside ^H4480 H1004 and out with pitch ^H3724. 15 Now this ^H2088 is how ^H834 you shall make ^H6213 it: the length ^H753 of the ark ^H8392 [fn]300 ^H7969 H3967 cubits ^H520, its breadth ^H7341 50 ^H2572 cubits ^H520, and its height ^H6967 30 ^H7970 cubits ^H520. 16 You shall make ^H6213 a [fn]window ^H6672 for the ark ^H8392, and complete ^H3615 it to one [fn]cubit ^H520 from [fn]the top ^H4605; and set ^H7760 the door ^H6607 of the ark ^H8392 in the side ^H6654 of it; you shall make ^H6213 it with lower ^H8482, second ^H8145, and third ^H7992 decks. 17 As for Me ^H589, behold ^H2009 I am bringing ^H935 the flood ^H3999 of water ^H4325 upon the earth ^H776, to destroy ^H7843 all ^H3605 flesh ^H1320 in which ^H834 is the breath ^H7307 of life ^H2416, from under ^H8478 heaven ^H8064; everything ^H3605 that is on the earth ^H776 shall breathe ^H1478 its last ^H1478. 18 But I will establish ^H6965 My covenant ^H1285 with you; and you shall enter ^H935 the ark ^H8392—you and your sons ^H1121 and your wife ^H802 and your sons’ ^H1121 wives ^H802 with you. 19 And of every ^H3605 living ^H2416 thing ^H2416 of all ^H3605 flesh ^H1320, you shall bring ^H935 two ^H8147 of every ^H3605 kind into the ark ^H8392, to keep ^H2421 them alive ^H2421 with you; they shall be male ^H2145 and female ^H5347. 20 Of the birds ^H5775 after their kind ^H4327, and of the animals ^H929 after their kind ^H4327, of every ^H3605 creeping ^H7431 thing ^H7431 of the ground ^H127 after its kind ^H4327, two ^H8147 of every ^H3605 kind will come ^H935 to you to keep ^H2421 them alive ^H2421. 21 As for you, take ^H3947 for yourself some ^H4480 of all ^H3605 food ^H3978 which ^H834 is edible ^H398, and gather ^H622 it to yourself; and it shall be for food ^H402 for you and for them.” 22 Thus Noah ^H5146 did ^H6213; according to all ^H3605 that God ^H430 had commanded ^H6680 him, so ^H3651 he did ^H6213.
