Warning Against Neglecting Salvation

1 For this ^G3778 reason ^G1223 we must ^G1163 pay ^G4337 much ^G4056 closer ^G4056 attention ^G4337 to [fn]what we have heard ^G191, lest ^G3379 we drift ^G3901 away ^G3901.

2 For if ^G1487 the word ^G3056 spoken ^G2980 through ^G1223 angels ^G32 proved ^G1096 [fn]unalterable ^G949, and every ^G3956 trespass ^G3847 and disobedience ^G3876 received ^G2983 a just ^G1738 [fn]penalty ^G3405, 3 how ^G4459 will we escape ^G1628 if we neglect ^G272 so ^G5082 great ^G5082 a salvation ^G4991? That ^G3748 salvation, first ^G746 spoken ^G2980 by ^G1223 the Lord ^G2962, was confirmed ^G950 to us by those ^G3588 who heard ^G191, 4 God ^G2316 also testifying ^G3140 with them, both ^G5037 by signs ^G4592 and wonders ^G5059 and by various ^G4164 [fn]miracles ^G1411 and by [fn]gifts ^G3311 of the Holy ^G40 Spirit ^G4151 according ^G2596 to His own will ^G2308.

Jesus, the Author of Salvation

5 For He did not subject ^G5293 to angels ^G32 [fn]the world ^G3625 to ^G3195 come ^G3195, concerning ^G4012 which ^G3739 we are speaking ^G2980.

6 But one ^G5100 has testified ^G1263 somewhere ^G4225, saying ^G3004,

“WHAT ^G5101 IS MAN ^G444, THAT YOU REMEMBER ^G3403 HIM?

OR ^G2228 THE SON ^G5207 OF MAN ^G444, THAT YOU ARE ^G1980 CONCERNED ^G1980 ABOUT ^G1980 HIM?

7 “YOU HAVE MADE ^G1642 [fn]HIM FOR A LITTLE ^G1024 WHILE ^G1024 LOWER ^G1642 THAN ^G3844 THE ANGELS ^G32;

YOU HAVE CROWNED ^G4737 HIM WITH GLORY ^G1391 AND HONOR ^G5092,

[fn]AND HAVE APPOINTED ^G2525 HIM OVER ^G1909 THE WORKS ^G2041 OF YOUR HANDS ^G5495;

8 YOU HAVE PUT ^G5293 ALL ^G3956 THINGS ^G3956 IN SUBJECTION ^G5293 UNDER ^G5270 HIS FEET ^G4228.”

For in subjecting ^G5293 all ^G3956 things ^G3956 to him, He left ^G863 nothing ^G3762 that is not ^G506 subject ^G506 to him. 13 And again ^G3825,

“I WILL PUT ^G3982 MY TRUST ^G3982 IN HIM.”

And again ^G3825,

“BEHOLD ^G2400, I AND THE CHILDREN ^G3813 WHOM ^G3739 GOD ^G2316 HAS GIVEN ^G1325 ME.”
