A King Will Reign Righteously

1 Behold ^H2005, a king ^H4428 will reign ^H4427 righteously ^H6664

And princes ^H8269 will rule ^H8323 justly ^H4941.

2 Each ^H376 will be like a refuge ^H4224 from the wind ^H7307

And a shelter ^H5643 from the storm ^H2230,

Like [fn]streams ^H6388 of water ^H4325 in a dry ^H6724 country ^H6724,

Like the shade ^H6738 of a [fn]huge ^H3515 rock ^H5553 in [fn]a weary ^H5889 land ^H776.

3 Then the eyes ^H5869 of those who see ^H7200 will not be [fn]blinded ^H8173,

And the ears ^H241 of those who hear ^H8085 will pay ^H7181 attention ^H7181.

4 And the heart ^H3824 of the hasty ^H4116 will discern ^H995 knowledge ^H1847,

And the tongue ^H3956 of the stammerers ^H5926 will hasten ^H4116 to speak ^H1696 clearly ^H6703.

5 No ^H3808 longer ^H5750 will the wicked ^H5036 fool ^H5036 be called ^H7121 noble ^H5081,

Or the rogue ^H3596 be spoken ^H559 of as generous ^H7771.

6 For a wicked ^H5036 fool ^H5036 speaks ^H1696 wicked ^H5039 folly ^H5039,

And his heart ^H3820 does ^H6213 wickedness ^H205:

To do ^H6213 ungodliness ^H2612 and to speak ^H1696 error ^H8442 against ^H413 Yahweh ^H3068,

In order to make ^H7324 the hungry ^H7457 person ^H5315 empty ^H7324;

He even causes the thirsty ^H6771 to lack ^H2637 a drink ^H4945.

7 As for a rogue ^H3596, his weapons ^H3627 are evil ^H7451;

He counsels ^H3289 wicked ^H2154 schemes ^H2154

To wreak ^H2254 destruction ^H2254 on the afflicted ^H6041 with lying ^H8267 words ^H561,

Even though the needy ^H34 one ^H34 speaks ^H1696 justly ^H4941.

8 But the noble ^H5081 man ^H5081 counsels ^H3289 noble ^H5082 plans ^H5082;

And by noble ^H5082 plans ^H5082 he rises ^H6965 up ^H6965.

9 Rise ^H6965 up ^H6965, you women ^H802 who are ^H7600 at ^H7600 ease ^H7600,

And hear ^H8085 my voice ^H6963;

Give ^H238 ear ^H238 to my word ^H565,

10 Within ^H5921 a year ^H8141 and a few days ^H3117

You will quake ^H7264, O complacent ^H982 daughters;

And the fruit gathering ^H625 will not come ^H935.

11 Tremble ^H2729, you women who are ^H7600 at ^H7600 ease ^H7600;

Quake ^H7264, you complacent ^H982 daughters;

Strip ^H6584, undress ^H6209, and put ^H2296 sackcloth on your waist ^H2504,

12 Beat ^H5594 your breasts ^H7699 for the desirable ^H2531 fields ^H7704, for the fruitful ^H6509 vine ^H1612,

13 For the land ^H127 of my people ^H5971 in which thorns ^H6975 and briars ^H8068 shall come ^H5927 up ^H5927,

Indeed ^H3588, against all ^H3605 the joyful ^H4885 houses ^H1004 and the exultant ^H5947 city ^H7151.

14 Because ^H3588 the palace ^H759 has been abandoned ^H5203, the [fn]populated ^H1995 city ^H5892 forsaken ^H5800.

[fn]Hill ^H6076 and watchtower ^H975 have become ^H1961 caves ^H4631 forever ^H5704 H5769,

A joy ^H4885 for wild ^H6501 donkeys ^H6501, a pasture ^H4829 for flocks ^H5739,

15 Until ^H5704 the Spirit ^H7307 is poured ^H6168 out ^H6168 upon us from on high ^H4791,

And the wilderness ^H4057 becomes ^H1961 a fruitful ^H3759 orchard ^H3759,

And the fruitful ^H3759 orchard ^H3759 is counted ^H2803 as a forest ^H3293.

16 Then justice ^H4941 will dwell ^H7931 in the wilderness ^H4057,

18 Then my people ^H5971 will live ^H3427 in a peaceful ^H7965 abode ^H5116,

And in secure ^H4009 dwellings ^H4908 and in undisturbed ^H7600 resting ^H4496 places ^H4496;

19 And it will hail ^H1258 when the forest ^H3293 comes ^H3381 down ^H3381,

And the city ^H5892 will be utterly ^H8218 laid ^H8213 low ^H8213.

20 How blessed ^H835 will you be, you who sow ^H2232 beside ^H5921 all ^H3605 waters ^H4325,

Who [fn]let ^H7971 out ^H7971 freely ^H7272 the ox ^H7794 and the donkey ^H2543.
