The Glory of Yahweh Will Be Revealed

1 “Comfort ^H5162, O comfort ^H5162 My people ^H5971,” says ^H559 your God ^H430.

2 “Speak ^H1696 to the heart ^H3820 of Jerusalem ^H3389;

And call ^H7121 out ^H7121 to her, that her [fn]warfare ^H6635 has been fulfilled ^H4390,

That her [fn]iniquity ^H5771 has been removed ^H7521,

That she has received ^H3947 from the hand ^H3027 of Yahweh ^H3068

Double ^H3718 for all ^H3605 her sins ^H2403.”

3 A voice ^H6963 [fn]is calling ^H7121,

“Prepare ^H6437 the way ^H1870 for Yahweh ^H3068 in the wilderness ^H4057;

Make ^H3474 smooth ^H3474 in the desert ^H6160 a highway ^H4546 for our God ^H430.

4 “Let every ^H3605 valley ^H1516 be lifted ^H5375 up ^H5375,

And every ^H3605 mountain ^H2022 and hill ^H1389 be made ^H8213 low ^H8213;

And let the rough ^H6121 ground ^H6121 become ^H1961 a plain ^H4334,

And the rugged ^H7406 terrain ^H7406 a broad ^H1237 valley ^H1237;

5 [fn]Then the glory ^H3519 of Yahweh ^H3068 will be revealed ^H1540,

And all ^H3605 flesh ^H1320 will see ^H7200 it together ^H3162;

For the mouth ^H6310 of Yahweh ^H3068 has spoken ^H1696.”

6 A voice ^H6963 says ^H559, “Call ^H7121 out ^H7121.”

Then [fn]he answered ^H559, “What ^H4100 shall I call ^H7121 out ^H7121?”

All ^H3605 flesh ^H1320 is grass ^H2682, and all ^H3605 its lovingkindness ^H2617 is like the flower ^H6731 of the field ^H7704.

7 The grass ^H2682 [fn]withers ^H3001, the flower ^H6731 fades ^H5034,

[fn]When ^H3588 the breath ^H7307 of Yahweh ^H3068 blows ^H5380 upon it;

Surely ^H403 the people ^H5971 are grass ^H2682.

8 The grass ^H2682 [fn]withers ^H3001, the flower ^H6731 fades ^H5034,

But the word ^H1697 of our God ^H430 stands ^H6965 forever ^H5769.

9 Get ^H5927 yourself up ^H5927 on a high ^H1364 mountain ^H2022,

O Zion ^H6726, bearer ^H1319 of ^H1319 good ^H1319 news ^H1319,

Raise ^H7311 up ^H7311 your voice ^H6963 powerfully ^H3581,

O Jerusalem ^H3389, bearer ^H1319 of ^H1319 good ^H1319 news ^H1319;

Raise ^H7311 it up ^H7311, do not fear ^H3372.

Say ^H559 to the cities ^H5892 of Judah ^H3063,

“Behold ^H2009 your God ^H430!”

10 Behold ^H2009, Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068 will come ^H935 with strength ^H2389,

With His arm ^H2220 ruling ^H4910 for Him.

Behold ^H2009, His reward ^H7939 is with Him

And His recompense ^H6468 before ^H6440 Him.

11 Like a shepherd ^H7462 He will shepherd ^H7462 His flock ^H5739;

In His arm ^H2220 He will gather ^H6908 the lambs ^H2924

And carry ^H5375 them in His bosom ^H2436;

He will gently lead ^H5095 the nursing ^H5763 ewes.

12 Who ^H4310 has measured ^H4058 the [fn]waters ^H4325 in the hollow ^H8168 of ^H8168 His hand ^H8168,

And [fn]encompassed ^H8505 the heavens ^H8064 by the [fn]span ^H2239,

And [fn]calculated ^H3557 the dust ^H6083 of the earth ^H776 by the measure ^H7991,

And weighed ^H8254 the mountains ^H2022 in a balance ^H6425

And the hills ^H1389 in a pair of scales ^H3976?

13 Who ^H4310 has [fn]encompassed ^H8505 the Spirit ^H7307 of Yahweh ^H3068,

Or as His counselor ^H376 H6098 has informed ^H3045 Him?

14 With whom ^H4310 did He take counsel ^H3289 and who gave ^H995 Him understanding ^H995?

And who taught ^H3925 Him in the path ^H734 of justice ^H4941 and taught ^H3925 Him knowledge ^H1847

And made ^H3045 Him know ^H3045 the way ^H1870 of understanding ^H8394?

15 Behold ^H2005, the nations ^H1471 are like a drop ^H4752 from a bucket ^H1805,

And are counted ^H2803 as a speck ^H7834 of ^H7834 dust ^H7834 on the scales ^H3976;

Behold ^H2005, He lifts ^H5190 up the coastlands ^H339 like fine ^H1851 dust ^H1851.

16 Even Lebanon ^H3844 is not enough ^H1767 to burn ^H1197,

Nor ^H369 its beasts ^H2416 enough ^H1767 for a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930.

17 All ^H3605 the nations ^H1471 are as nothing ^H369 before ^H5048 Him;

They are counted ^H2803 by Him as non-existent ^H657 and utterly formless ^H8414.

18 To whom ^H4310 then will you liken ^H1819 God ^H410?

Or what ^H4100 likeness ^H1823 will you compare ^H6186 with Him?

19 As for the graven ^H6459 images ^H6459, a craftsman ^H2796 casts ^H5258 it,

A goldsmith ^H6884 plates ^H7554 it with gold ^H2091,

And a silversmith ^H6884 fashions chains ^H7577 of silver ^H3701.

20 He who is too impoverished ^H5532 to make such a contribution ^H8641

Chooses ^H977 a tree ^H6086 that does not rot ^H7537;

He seeks ^H1245 out ^H1245 for himself a wise ^H2450 craftsman ^H2796

To [fn]prepare ^H3559 a graven ^H6459 image ^H6459 that will not be shaken ^H4131.

21 Do you not know ^H3045? Have you not heard ^H8085?

Has it not been declared ^H5046 to you from the beginning ^H7218?

Have you not understood ^H995 from the foundations ^H4144 of the earth ^H776?

22 It is He who [fn]inhabits ^H3427 above ^H5921 the [fn]circle ^H2329 of the earth ^H776,

And its inhabitants ^H3427 are like grasshoppers ^H2284;

It is He who stretches ^H5186 out ^H5186 the heavens ^H8064 like a curtain ^H1852

And spreads ^H4969 them out like a tent ^H168 to inhabit ^H3427.

23 It is He who reduces ^H5414 rulers ^H7336 to nothing ^H369,

Who makes ^H6213 the [fn]judges ^H8199 of the earth ^H776 utterly formless ^H8414.

24 [fn]Scarcely ^H1077 H637 have they been planted ^H5193;

[fn]Scarcely ^H1077 H637 have they been sown ^H2232;

[fn]Scarcely ^H1077 H637 has their stem ^H1503 taken ^H8327 root ^H8327 in the earth ^H776,

But He merely ^H1571 blows ^H5398 on them, and they [fn]wither ^H3001,

And the storm ^H5591 carries ^H5375 them away like stubble ^H7179.

25 “To whom ^H4310 then will you liken ^H1819 Me

That I would be ^H7737 his equal ^H7737?” says ^H559 the Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918.

26 Lift ^H5375 up ^H5375 your eyes ^H5869 on high ^H4791

And see ^H7200 who ^H4310 has created ^H1254 these ^H428 stars,

The One who leads ^H3318 forth ^H3318 their host ^H6635 by number ^H4557,

He calls ^H7121 them all ^H3605 by name ^H8034;

Because ^H4480 of the greatness ^H7230 of His vigor ^H202 and the [fn]strength ^H533 of His power ^H3581,

Not one ^H376 of them is ^H5737 missing ^H5737.

27 Why ^H4100 do you say ^H559, O Jacob ^H3290, and assert ^H1696, O Israel ^H3478,

“My way ^H1870 is hidden ^H5641 from Yahweh ^H3068,

And the justice ^H4941 due me passes ^H5674 by ^H5674 my God ^H430”?

28 Do you not know ^H3045? Have you not heard ^H8085?

The Everlasting ^H5769 God ^H430, Yahweh ^H3068, the Creator ^H1254 of the ends ^H7098 of the earth ^H776,

Does not become ^H3286 weary ^H3286 or tired ^H3021.

His understanding ^H8394 is unsearchable ^H369 H2714.

29 He gives ^H5414 power ^H3581 to the weary ^H3287,

And to him who lacks ^H369 vigor ^H202 He increases ^H7235 might ^H6109.

30 Though youths ^H5288 grow ^H3286 weary ^H3286 and tired ^H3021,

And choice ^H970 young ^H970 men ^H970 stumble ^H3782 badly ^H3782,

31 Yet those who hope ^H6960 in Yahweh ^H3068

Will gain ^H2498 new ^H2498 power ^H3581;

They will [fn]mount ^H5927 up ^H5927 with [fn]wings ^H83 like eagles ^H5404;

They will run ^H7323 and not get ^H3021 tired ^H3021;

They will walk ^H1980 and not become ^H3286 weary ^H3286.
